I am running a script from cmd in Marc 2019 and after aproximately 15 minutes the simulation stops running. It does not complete a single increment and there is no exit number. The only thing I could reach to see, is a message at the end of .log file which says "Solver error 4031 contact Marc analyst".
The most common reason for exit 4031 is insufficient memory. Try running on multiple cores, with PARDISO solver and see if helps. Also, if possible run it on another machine with more resources. If the issue persists, an input file would be needed to investigate further.
If the model is large, it is better to turn on the out of core option. Sometimes switching to different solvers might help to resolve exit number 4031 which Kiran has already suggested to you.
Please refer the attached image to turn on out of core option in Mentat.
Thanks for that advice Shivaprasad! I will also try it. For the moment I can say that I tried solving in the same computer with Pardiso solver and 8 procesor and I obtained the same error.
However, I tried running the simulation with a simple processor and it worked, which I do not understand really why...
@Aurea Iñurritegui Marroquin , thank you for quick reply. Is it possible for you share the image of your Solver/Parallelization setting for the successful run? or can you guide what changes you did ?
I commonly run my simulation from the cmd. But this is how I would run it directly from Marc.
You should check the memory from your computer, since sometimes for very big models even if using the parameters in the figure, I could not achieve running my simulations, so I had to change the computer and use a higher memory/capacity workstation.
@Aurea Iñurritegui Marroquin , Sure, Thank you so much, I will refer what you shared. For your information model is very big and machine is also very high-end workstation. I think changing few parameters in this will hopefully help.
