PC-DMIS Enhancements via Google Moderator

Have any of you ever used Google Moderator? Google Moderator

I'm considering starting one for forum users for PC-DMIS enhancements. Thoughts?

It wouldn't be "official", it'd be something I use to help forum users vote on their most requested enhancement.

It's just an idea based off of the many requests I get.

thanks.

You are doing a good job and putting up with quite a bit, I commend you for your thick skin. This particular idea sounds great, it can't hurt, right ? You are willing to put effort into it, so I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want it ?

Pc-Dmis is chalk full of things, many of them to "dummy" down the software. I reckon it has much to do with some of the non skilled programmers working for the bigger companies.
Pc-dmis has had ways to do 95% of what I need since 2.3 version days. I use it to measure acme threads to zebra stripes, so I think I can qualify to say this, IMHO.
People want to be spoon fed these days and when they work for a company with 100 seats, guess what ? Companies don't seem to want to pay to properly train these programmers, yet
they let them request dumb things ( Like John Kingston...C64 request..LOL)
I really don't see a large need for "things", I see the need to stabilize and make work properly, all the tools that have been added over time. I think thats what most people will request here.

Example of a "Tool" that really doesn't need to be in there : The cad assembly builder. I have been using the levels forever and can move stuff to any level, read 20 different files into build a car, as long as they have the same origin. I just don't see the point and frankly bumped my head just trying to figure out how to use it...

    Keep the faith Brian...and thanks
  • lol, it will turn into a b;tch box. Sorry but I am not optimistic that the majority of users will stay rational for longer than three minutes or that Hexagon will devote the time to sort through it. Probably get so many complaints from Lansing, MI about e-mails that it will crash Google's server.
  • It's just a ploy to remove dissent from the forum and have it in a location not traveled by the casual user.

    WTF it's a Ploy??
  • Hee, agree.

There is no ploy, sorry. I see your vote is no, and I don't have to do it. I wanted to get votes behind enhancements and actually make something useful for users. Turns out any good deed can be accused of being a "ploy". I think your statement is a "ploy" too. So there. Slight smile

  • It already is the priority. That's why I'm trying to create it, to move enhancements to one spot and keep the good ones at the top. In other words, don't do every enhancement, just the popular ones. It's just an idea as I keep saying, and it's only my idea. We already have systems for all these things.

The priority should be fixing the current state of PC-DMIS, before starting collecting enhancements.

    Just my 2 SEK.
  • Couldn't a simple poll in this forum do fine?
  • But the poll writer would have to have all the ideas at once right? And the ideas would be only the poll writers. And if you made a thread or subforum, then the comments and discussion overtake the suggestions. Forums are not good places to get precise information, you have to have the time to read 100 posts to get 5 good pieces of feedback. It's the nature of forums. They are best for discussion.
