Retirement is worth doing. I have not regretted a minute of it.
My youngest daughter, who worked for the government, decided she had enough of DC. I flew out there in July and got her all packed up and we drove her BMW 330ci back to Arizona. Had the best time ever spending time with her and driving through the mountains of West Virginia and northern Arizona.
She went to work for Boeing!!!
I had a friend who worked there and he retired a couple of weeks ago and I got an invitation to come back for the retirement party.
Because I don't work there anymore, I had to have an escort. Turned out to be my daughter. I got there a little early and Angela and I took a spin around the place and I introduced her to some of the people she needs to know and some to stay away from.
It was the first time back at the plant since I retired. I had a wonderful time but I am not wanting to go back more frequently than retirements.
I made the decision to stay retired when I retired and that is what I have done. I did have a good time though. . .
I had a guy tell me the company was REALLY going to do something about process control and get "serious" about it.
I just looked at him and told him I gave them 30 years to implement a program and made pitch after pitch to try to get people to sign up.
I am not interested in going through that again. I shook his hand and told him I had a date at the outdoor range to implement my own form of process control and I like the results of my efforts a lot.
I am still playing music and played last weekend.
All in all, life is very good and I am enjoying it as much as is allowed under the law!!
