Saturday Roll Call

So anyone else making big bucks today? Or are there any salaried people working for free?
  • Nope, not today. I typically don't put in a lot of overtime anyway.
  • I thought Saturday was a standard work day!?!?!?
  • When I started Saturday was a normal workday. I was putting in 60s routinely. My checks were nice. Now I rarely work on Saturday and if we are slammed I put in about 50 but under normal circumstances it's 40 - 45. It's nice to have my own time. [emoji4]
  • Nah they don't want to pay me to work Saturday's so I get the weekends off. Which is nice, but, I'd like SOME overtime, makes for a nice check. They do pay me overtime but they told me I have to cut back on it, apparently 6 hours a week is too much overtime.

    My last job was like that and than my two daughters decided to get married next year within 3 months of each other and decided I needed them overtime hours back :-/

    I bet you work automotive. Most other fields don't seem to put in the hours we do... I could be wrong but I really never am. Alien lol

    I miss my own time. I am doing five 9's and four on Saturdays. So its not too bad.

    Whoa six, try not to break their bank. I like working overtime during the winter months not so much in the summer..



    But I do love my job, been in quality my whole life and been programming over 25 years... Been the QC Manager found it boring and make more money hourly than salary.

    I play Quality Engineer which can also be fun but I hate the redundant paperwork.
  • When I first started I was more motivated, when ever I started a run I would stay till it was done, regardless of how late I was here. They didn't like that. Now we have other operators so my main focus as the only programmer is just writing programs. I still try to stay late some days so I get at least an hour of overtime in, once every couple of weeks or so.

    I have been blessed that we actually need another programmer who does fixtures but and since I can use the extra cash for the girls I have been given the green card on overtime. I am only putting in 10 extra but could and would if needed...

    The weird thing is I hear some people are off the hook with work and some are dead. Quality and timing count. If you cant give them good product on time you are out. We are been asked to do take over work from Magna because they are have too much work.
  • Yea that is what happens a lot of time here. I'll be given a project and told it needs to be done by morning for the morning meeting. Well then your either going to pay me overtime to stay and get it done, or you're not getting the data you need for the meeting. These people think they can have it both ways. Neutral face

    I just finishing making time and a half for the last eight and am going home now!Slight smile
