Me too. We had a squared plate bolted into the table, so the chuck could be moved, and placed in the corner all day long! Same woth the vice. I placed both of them in the corner. No problem!
I use a chuck for a lot of our parts. Mostly round flanges. Create a program to align the vice. Save as an External Alignment. Recall external alignment into part program. No touching the joystick for part programs. As long as the chuck doesn't move, good to go. Ours are clamped to the table.
