If you do want to set 30 parts and measure them all at once, then yes. The chuck and vice isnt gonna fly. I stayd away from measuring many parts at once kind thing. I ran one part at a time. This way you can monitor each part and make modifications if needed.
So its a trade off I guess.
Having 30pc measured at once can be a winner, but also can be a looser.
For example, and there many examples. Say, one of the part is not seated property, you will not know that untill you ran all 30. So you will have a large report with one part being bad. The boss want to have a complete good report, you have to re run 30pc again. You wont be able to just run that part, because you have a loop.
I am sure there are ways, just saying it may not always beneficial to run many parts at once, thats all.. Ofcourse its much faster to have a fixture that is designed to measure 30pcs, than gluing and such. But, it also is expensive and it takes time to make one.
Most places i worked at, we did not have the time to make one. So, i work with what i had, chuck and vices and magic markers. Which also work great if you have small parts. You can easily set up 30pc using the marker and it will hold!
