Program Management System

Hey guys,

I was wondering if you could share you program management system, if you have one? I'm after some inspiration/ideas as to how to manage our system.

Currently we have about 200 programs, 24 CMMs and in the current state anybody could technically change any of these programs. We have a CMM server designated to CMM programs and basically our operators copy and paste the desired programs to the machine C:drive. The operators then go into online mode to calibrate their probe tips and then go into operator mode to continue and measure components.

I would like a system or an interface where programs can be copied locally from the server and an option to not go into online mode. Following that, I would also like a system where the programs can only be changed/deleted/added by designated engineers/technicians. Would this mean putting a password on the server?

I'm not the best at computer systems generally speaking aha.

Any advice would be greatly received.

    Thank you for inquiring about a program management system. We do have a product called MMS (Metrology Management System), which is a full asset management system. It can handle what you're looking for. For measurement routines (part programs), we have a component called MMS Connect, which is now part of PC-DMIS 2015.1, which allows you to maintain your routines on a server. Then, each operator can use another component in the system called MMS Inspect. This is a simple operator interface which sits on top of PC-DMIS, and simply allows your operators to run only the programs which you assigned to their CMMs in the MMS Connect component. This is a fully integrated and secured document management system.

    There are other components of MMS, such as machine management and reporting, as well as SPC reporting with the integrated 3D CAD and Q-DAS reporting modules.
