Measuremax help???

I know that this software is obsolete, but I have a real need to learn to at least program at a moderate level in it, due to a certain company that will NOT update and join the modern world. I know that it uses BASIC, and I've had a little experience programming in that language (many years ago in engineering school) so I understand a little bit about the use of arrays, but I need some sort of textbook to follow. Any recommendations? Or perhaps a large .pdf scan of some of the old literature? I doubt that anybody would invoke copyrights on anything that out of date.
  • Alex,

The help files are pretty good for this, but there are a few things from them (and there should be a FLB pdf file or measuremax pdf file to have handy.

Print out the page that covers the dimension arrays and keep it near you for a while. Also, there is a section of the help manual that covers the commands (summarizes them), print that out as well.

The software is pretty powerful, not much you can't do with it unless you are a CAD heavy environment. It is sensitive to the workplane you are in though for many things. Programmed a bit on a Discovery D12. There are worse software(s) out there.
  • Alex, How is it going so far?
We still use MMax, are transitioning slowly away to pcdmis, but it could be years yet before we've replaced it.
The Wilcox ftp site has a MLB pdf manual:
    http://www.filewatcher.com/b/ftp/ftp.wilcoxassoc.com/Legacy%20Products/MeasureMax/V6_50-0.html
    that might be helpful.
Otherwise I think I have a pdf somewhere I could email to you if you give me your email address.

You might want to get in touch with J Jones )owner of c m m g u y s dot com) He is a guru at Measuremax and may have some relevant literature/info for you.
