'broken' forum

Well, first off, this looks like crap
Secondly, it's "broken", no way to log in using IE8, so, since I won't use this from home.... Bye.
  • And Another thing. . . the 'upgrade' added ZuckerThumb which is sort of like a 'thanks for the useful post'. . . sorta. . . but it won't let me like my own posts. I always like my posts, else I don't post them or I delete them. Natch. Rage Rolling eyes

  • I liked it for ya

Why Thank You. Thank You Very Much.

After [-]careful[/-] deliberately biased experimentation I have proven to my cynical self that the Sit-N-Spin-Like-Thumb is the new reputation. Concurrently and most distressing it has been established that 'Orange is the new Green' at least until admin sorts all the more important stuff and gets a round tuit.

  • "Mark channels read" does not work for me either (IE11) - if that is supposed to mark all forums read, that is.
  • I guess we'll get used to it...

I'm a bit happier now that I found the Login link - I think it should be made a bit more obvious (and moved down into the header - why waste a full line with just two links?)

I don't like the current trend of every forum/website/software to use minimal fonts but spread everything out more height-wise at the same time (Outlook comes to mind...). Nothing gained - more difficult to read, and less info on each page! I've found the settings and have modified the font so I can at least read the pages, but that means even less info per page.

Considering that modern screens are wide and (relatively) low, it would be much better with a left side panel instead of the top one. And is it really necessary to repeat the stickies on every page? In any subforum with more than three stickies I don't see *anything* but the repeated first part of the page plus the three stickies without scrolling...

Bug report - the avatars don't show when following a link to a page, a page refresh makes them show (FireFox 47.0).

Edit: Also when posting, my avatar disappears and is replaced by the default picture. Refresh of the page shows it again.
  • At least I feel at home here on the new form. It's as buggy as PC-DMIS. The incomplete Measuring software lolStuck out tongue closed eyes
Wait a minute where is my S key. There it is Ctrl +S. Didn't want to lose my changes lol.
  • The Mark Channels Read button at the TOP doesn't work.

The Mark Channels Read linky at the bottom, however, does.

It seems to exist at the bottom as long as you are not actually reading a thread.
  • If we don't get Rep back, Im'a have dph write a script that turns Rudi into "speedy Gonzales"!

  • Navigate to the forum today, and EVERY channel shows as being unread. Even the one that hasn't had a post in it since 3-21-16. Angry

Well, at least 1 thing did get fixed. The "Mark Channels Read" button up top works.

Sweet, now when I navigate to the forum, I actually only see unread posts marked as unread.
  • Since i've got a current SMA, i called 800.343.7933 to ask about Forum technical issues. (cue crickets chirp) just kidding.
However, you all may now make up your own horror story to reflect your total Hexagon experience. this forum is just tip of the iceberg.
And AGAIN..... nice job closing down the TP 2016 forum after this site was down many days.
Guess i'll have to email the Hexagon product owner directly to address my issue.
"The worlds most popular CMM software" so says Hexagon. They might sell a lot of licenses, but the support SUCKS and this forum is a PRIME example.
(and i don't really regret that i am no longer 'beyond reproach' )
