I have been asked the following question and I am looking for the answer. Since our 100% dimensional, annual layouts (performed on the CMM) are on the control plan, do we need to perform a GRR on these? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Gage RR's are intended to capture and mitigate any errors in repeatability and reproducibility. With that being said it's implied that you would need to be utilizing this program in a frequency which would merit SPC (Statistical Process Control). Does the customer demand SPC data provided for the FAI's on an annual cycle? If not, then no I don't see a Gage RR meriting any value.
I'm presuming you have in-process routines for this matter. These should be the only gage RR -vetted routines.
