Programming Training/Help

I have been programming for 5 years and I have completed all three programming courses at hexagon metrology, however I am in need of some training or tutorials on variables and expressions (script). I know how to use variables to loop, or dimensions, yes/no comments, simple things like that. What I don't know is the value of using them, hence the need for training. I read so many topics on this forum and I cant quite grasp it. I would really like to advance my knowledge and programming skills. Whether it be after work one on one, face to face training or facetime. I live in southern New Hampshire and I work 1st shift.
let me explain a little about how I got here, I started as a quality inspector, we had a QC5000 manual CMM, no problem, then we got a global with Pc-DMIS. They sent another guy for training (I was on 3rd shift), I watched this guy and started to learn. He was not a good programmer and I still deal with some of his programs (no auto alignments, leveling to a point). We got a manual CMM with Pc-DMIS and I sat there night after night learning. Then I got my chance to go for training and I have now completed all three levels. we all know that the courses only touch certain topics and alot of the stuff redundant. I am the only programmer here and have never had the chance to learn from someone with any knowledge about programming. So my programs work good and they do what we need, but I don't know what I don't know so its hard to figure out where to go next. I would love any help or suggestions, maybe examples or some tips on what my next move should be.
I mostly program offline, we have a Global 555 with touch probe, using 2015 (about to update this week to 2016). I want to advance and I would love some help. I can pay for your time training if you can really help me. I don't want any games or bullshit, jokes are ok...haha
Thanks for reading this and if you cant help and know someone who can please pass this along to them.

  • I will update to 2017 as soon as we get it. I have the technical release but haven't really done much with it. I do know some stuff I just don't know why or when to use all the codes. I have found a couple guys in the area who have offered some one on one training. I have seen a lot of the CMMXYZ videos also. Thank you for your response and I am going to look up the linkedin group. Have a good day
