Our HR Manager just walked herself out on the shop floor (which is a steel toe, safety glasses, and long pants required area) wearing a skirt and open toed shoes to speak to a machinist about why he broke company policy and wore shorts to work today. I watched in utter disbelief as this guy got a verbal warning. Anyone else see stupid stuff like this going on at their shops?
Where I used to work in Hampton, Virginia, is allowed to kick someone for the fist time offence, punch someone, for the first time offence, spit in someones face, for the first time offence....pretty much anything goes for the first 2 times, Only on the THIRD time you get a warning, and then you could be fired.
I was not aware of that policy, untill another guys threaten to kill me and tried to initiate a fight, in front of the whole crowd, the HR said, well I cant fire ya'll.. So dont do it again, or you get a warning.
