I hired a new guy and he insists upon doing one DCC alignment and never doing another alignment, he lets the feature control frame control the alignment for him. I don't think that is a good practice, does anyone have an opinion on this?
The only time I do more than one DCC alignment, is when I use a read Point. First alignment is just to locate the part on the machine in all directions. Second alignment is to really lock it down. So, yeah I can see the point in 2 DCC alignments. after that creating FCF in Xact, as long as you have nice clean hits. no reason for any more alignments
You could re-program and then measure a part he has just done and see if your method gets different results to his. If they are different (within margins of error) then you will both have to look into it a little more as one of you could be wrong.
As has been said, one DCC alignment is fine for using xactmeasure as long as the hits that create the FCF are taken in the right place.
