Hello everyone. It’s been awhile since I have been on here, my company was bought by another company and things have gotten crazy and haven’t had time to get on here.
Anyways, I am taking a job to program using MCOSMOS and I wanted to hear from anyone who has used that software.
The company is sending me for week training as soon as I start.
How is the transition? Thoughts? Major differences? Really anything relevant is appreciated.
Thanks in advance and I hope all of you are doing good.
Mikeg....you're not alone. Change sux (depending on how you see it)
1 week seems the standard to pack new software perversions into our craniums. Good luck, amigo. I know absolutely NOTHING of MCOSMOS except what I learned from that Carl Sagan PBS series.
Good luck!... and try that other forum.....I think you'll find some fellow (m)COSMOnauts::::::::::::.......
I don't think i will have an issue figuring it out but most big changes are scary (until you do it and realize it wasn't as bad as you thought).
I signed up for the other forum last night right after i added this post.
Thank you
Thank you. I have been looking at Youtube and other sites. It seems to be somewhat similar with different icons so i think it will just be awhile for me to get used to where everything is.
The company bought the CMM last year and they have no one to program. The CMM came with two seats for training and they are sending me the first or second week i start and then i will go from there. I gave my notice here and im thinking maybe i can do contract work on the weekends here since they wont have any programmers once i leave.
The formal training should help a great deal. I went to work for a place that ran only MCOSMOS. Totally sucked balls. The folks that I worked with were competent but initially very, let's say, careful with what they doled out in the form of knowledge they gained over the years. All in all, I totally did not like MCOSMOS. Antiquated Japanese software, written by Germans, yes really. Well, good luck.
Here is a link to my Google Drive folder of MCOSMOS stuff, don't know what you will find in there but if it helps, great...
