Just a short vent...

You know that feeling you get when you see an operator constantly checking and re-checking what is probably the LEAST important feature on a part... SMH

(I tried just posting this in a metrology forum, but no one responded... are they actually working on Friday afternoon or what?!?! (As I hammer out a program, lol...)

  • Many QC rooms I've worked in was made up of 75% of people you just vented about. QC rooms have forgotten what type of work was put in by pioneers in the meat, grocery, automotive manufacturing fields. Make a bloody assembly line!!!!!!.

Imagine if Toyota had one tech to assemble/manufacture one pick-up truck at a time. They'd cost a fortune! Same thing should apply in most QC rooms, IMHO, create internal departments inside QC.... Document screening, Visual/thread inspection, Bench inspection, CMM, etc.

Pass 1 job thru all departments that apply. That 1 job would pass thru QC much faster than 1 inspector would take (most times they lose focus or get distracted).
  • OMG, OMG!!!!! THIS!!!!! If I ever start my own place, I'm stealing this idea!
