Just a short vent...

You know that feeling you get when you see an operator constantly checking and re-checking what is probably the LEAST important feature on a part... SMH

(I tried just posting this in a metrology forum, but no one responded... are they actually working on Friday afternoon or what?!?! (As I hammer out a program, lol...)

We hired a quality engineer the other day..

One of the first things they asked me was "Isn't a CMM the only way to actually measure a true position? There's no way to measure that by hand and calculate it without a software or something right?" We're talking literally a square block with one hole.

I will never fault a regular person for not knowing something...but that question came from someone with a Master's in Mech ENG who apparently has 10+ years being a QE and has worked with Med Devices and Aerospace work in the past.

Oh, good lord... sorry about your new guy...I didn't know how to do that when I started here a year ago, but I can think up 2 other ways in less than 5 seconds now. But then again... I'm a farm girl at heart, so... :-P
