For me its headphones unless I like what is playing in the shop (we have speakers in FAI connected to the shop speakers with our own volume control. I like hard rock/metal (Disturbed, Korn, Volbeat, Slipknot, ect...)
Matthew D. Hoedeman Yes, that does too.
Schlag Architects aren't new. They have just changed their sound...at least with this song. We'll see when they drop more music.
A-machine-insp I have 2 basses, 1 guitar, and a drum set. My son is learning to play and I can play basic rock/alternative beats. I was thinking of selling my acoustic kit and getting an electric kit. It would help keep the house quieter because my son practices a couple of times a day. lol.
bfire85 I'm sure it would help. I have a friend that is staying at my house now (long story) so being quiet is actually a thing for me now. I've played electric kits years ago and the only one that came close to reacting like an actual drum head was the expensive Roland kit. Alesis now makes a nice looking kit that is right in my price range and is 11 pieces, that's the one I'm going to look at tonight. I may have to get a recording setup going cause I have ideas but no way to record them.
A-machine-insp I think I was looking at the same kit. If you test it out, let me know. For recording, I bought a simple 2 input USB-C interface, iRig Duo I/O. It works pretty good. I think it was like $200 or $250 and comes with a bunch of software. I use Acoustica Mixcraft as my DAW.
bfire85 I didn't get a chance to go last night so I'm going to try to make it up there tonight. I'll let you know what I think. Hopefully they have one setup to demo.
I've been inspired lately by some of the new music I've heard and my current situation with the loss of my wife. Getting back into music is no longer a want for me, it is needed.
BTW, Check out the new Hollywood Undead song Heart Of A Champion. It has Papa Roach and Ice Nine Kills in it. Awesome song. Please pass on any other new song recommendations. I am listening to Architects and Imminence a lot these days so you have a preference reference.
We use Spotify. Classic rock radio on a medium/low volume. no explicit music
Sometimes I mix it up with some alternative music (Which is what I prefer). I am the most senior person working in my quality lab (which is sad because I have only been here a year and a half, The turn over is insane) and it is my Spotify account so I just listen to what I want and I rarely get pushback.
A-machine-insp Yeah they have been around for a little while. I haven't really dug into them all too much, but have heard some of their recent tunes. Not too shabby!
bfire85 To me they are like Architects in that they have been around for a while but I am just now hearing them. Listen to their song Stabbing in the Dark.
