Music at work

Are you allowed to listen to music at work?

Radio, headphones, company sound system?

What do you listen to?

For me its headphones unless I like what is playing in the shop (we have speakers in FAI connected to the shop speakers with our own volume control. I like hard rock/metal (Disturbed, Korn, Volbeat, Slipknot, ect...)

  • Listened to it on the way into work today. The violin adds such a nice touch.

I think they are one of the most unrecognized bands out now. them and Amaranthe. I need to look up more symphonic metal music.
  • You want interesting, the Harp Twins have done covers of just about every class of music (and since it it is music, that means no rap). They have also done original works as well. Most don't include any singing, but they do sing for some of their stuff

  • I honestly listen to every song you post ( Araranthe just now a smattering of 4 songs ) and I feel like my parents probably did when I was blasting Where Eagle Dare from MAIDEN in 1982. I listen to some good old metal and not afraid of heavy, just cant do the cookie monster / death metal lyrics
I used to listen to OCTANE a ton on XM, seriously, every band / song sounds the same and rarely go there anymore, Cookie monster meets symphonic harmonies ? Feel like I am 80 and shaking my cane at you young whipersnappers. ...Slight smile

The harp girls remind me of 2 CELLOS. Those guys cover everything and absolutley rock out.
  • but you gotta admit, they are pleasant on the eyes.......

Not for continual entertainment, but like a lot of songs, nice to hear every once in a while, like between Meatloaf, Barry Manilow, Beach Boys, Ted Nugent, Celtic Woman, and Billy Joel.
  • All I can think of when I hear is the teacher talking all wonky ...... hillarious. A lot of talent here no doubt
  • Not trying to bring this down at all but I have been having troubles dealing with my emotions lately because of what I went through last year (see my signature) and it is slowly getting worse with the one year anniversary coming up soon. The one thing that has helped me the most through it is music. That's the reason why headphones are not allowed at my work except for me. I had a conversation with my boss about it and he understands so I am the only exception to the rule plus I am more productive with music instead of silence.

This song has helped me through far more moments/days than I can count and will probably stay on repeat all day. I share these types of songs hoping that if someone is having a hard time like I am, they will remember these songs and find the same type of help that I find.

What I'm about to say is NOT going to make you feel any better. All Emotions that you feel, Sad, Mad, Happy, Nuts, Lonely, Empty, Etc. Will not change anything, it will not bring her back, Best thing you got are memories and you hold on to them as long as you can, before you get to old and forget. She was part of your journey in life, but not your purpose, she was your blanket, that kept you warm, she was your ears, when you needed to be heard, she was a jack, when you needed to be lifted up, the list goes on, come to think of it, That poor woman had to deal with you, so you weren't the only one that suffered in that relationship. You have a job to do, and you have a purpose<<<I'm still trying to figure that one out. Ask yourself, What would she think? , Did she want you to mope around and feel sorry for yourself, did she ever tell you, "You can only think of me, Without me your life means nothing" Was she that type of person, I never met her nor did I talk to her, the pics you've shared says different. I am very sorry you have to go through this. But Buc up young man, your life is not over and you got some work to do.

I agree with all you said. Most of my days are good, I just have to deal with the not so good days when they happen. Music and a good friend that has been through this twice help me through those days.
