Custom Qualification Balls

Hello.

I am going to reverse engineer 3 qualification balls we have on a qualification tool, 2 of which seem to be custom made. I plan to buy in 3 certified ceramic balls and get the steel bases turned.

Anyone done this before, any tips?

Any idea what would be the best glue to use to stick the ball to the base, something like Loctite 480?

Cheers

  • I would just buy the qualification tools that are already on the steel shank. That being said, I have seen some of the spheres loosen up and they (the shop I worked at at the time) used regular modeling CA superglue.

On a personal note (since this is in the off topic section and thinks get pretty off topic) you should be proud of the self restraint I am exercising right now by not making a smart remark on the topic title...Rolling eyesRolling eyesRolling eyes
