What do you take to the range?

Here's what I take! It's my COVID-1911
  • Beretta U22 Neo
    Heritage Arms .22 9-shot revolver
    Various .22 rifles.
  • I have the most fun with my S&W 15-22. Can abuse the H3LL out of it all afternoon for $20 worth of ammo and the rifle itself was only $350.
  • My favorite range toys are:
    580 series mini-14
    S&W 360 Airweight
S&W model 39-2 (very good condition)
    Dan Wesson 15-2 (.357 mag and I have the 2.5", 4" and 6" barrels)
Dan Wesson 44 (.44 mag with 6" barrel)
Ruger Mark III (5" bull barrel)
Winchester model 70 Featherweight in .300 WinMag

I've got several others but don't get them out very often and those mentioned above are used throughout the year for one reason or another. And what I like the most is that my 100 yard range is out my back door. When my daughter and her family come to visit from Illinois they bring along several of their guns and we'll burn up a lot of ammo real quick.
  • I see you have a lot of fun! I do like the interchangeability of the Dan Wesson. I really like that with my AR-15s,
  • Charlie Baker (Governor, R., MASS) is NOT pro 2A.

When the pandemic hit, EVERYTHING was immediately shut down. Baker's Admin. quickly sent out a list of "essential" businesses & gun retailers were on that list. The next day, with no explanation, gun retailers were removed from the list and then told to shut down.

It took a class action lawsuit going to our Supreme Court to get them to re-open retailers. After re-opening, Baker Admin. had "no comment" on why something that is constitutionally guaranteed was deemed "non-essential". In MA you could buy weed & pay tax on it or even go to a safe heroin injection site.. but you couldn't buy a gun.

Absolutely pathetic. I envy you guys & gals who live in states that don't hate the Constitution.
  • It's amazing what certain politicians (tards) are taking advantage of during this pandemic! It's like they want the economy to crash! The dip sh!ts closed down camping in the forest. What a good place to social distance! They just opened it up today! Don't get me started on the red flag law!!!! Hate the constitution.... THEY want to rewrite it!!! B.S.
  • Homebuilt AR-15
    Mossberg 12GA
Springfield XD-M compact 45 (carry weapon)
And my personal favorite... FN FNX-45 Tactical. Nothing like 15+1 of 45ACP. I also carry this one from time to time.

Also cant forget the non gunpowder fun. Bowtech Carbon Knight. Love that bow.
  • I have a golf ball canon I made when I was board at work. Thought it would be cool to golf with!Astonished That didn't work!!!! At a little over 150 yards the ball is still climbing and hard to recover! The only way to see it is to film it in slow motion. Really fun to take camping. 8:00 wake up call. It sounds like a really mad plinko chip going through the trees. Innocent
  • I used to carry the DW 15-2 (wearing the 2.5" barrel) every day but I've had a few health issues come up and that gun weighs 40 oz loaded and picked up the S&W 360 for an even trade on another gun I had and it is MUCH easier to carry as it weighs 15 oz loaded and it is surprisingly accurate for only having a 1.875" barrel. My 15-2 is probably the most accurate carry handgun I have carried as my EDC and have decapitated rabbits at 15 yards when they were feasting in the wife's garden

My non-powder fun is my Anderson compound bow. They were a little known company that made good equipment.

I had an AR once, just didn't shoot it enough for me to want to keep it. My mini-14 is with me whenever I head to the woods. While the mini is not as accurate as an AR, I find it more fun to shoot and I want to pick up a mini-30 this next year as I originally bought the mini-14 for my daughter (she had one stolen 20 years ago). I told her she can have it after I'm gone but I'll give it to her before I go because I want to see the happiness on her face.
  • I almost forgot my trusty Ruger 10/22, I love that gun.

The other one I forgot is a very special gun to me. VIS Radom 35. It was my grandfathers and it was given to me before he passed away. It is a German 9mm modeled after the 1911. He was in WW2, killed a Nazi officer and took his gun. It has all the Nazi proof marks on it too.
