What to expect on calibration?

Hi all,

searched around but didn't find much. Hex is coming to calibrate our machines in the next months. I haven't been involved in this before. I started CMM programming a year ago. What to expect? Should i remove all my fixtures from the surface plate? Is there anything i should do before they come? How long does it usually take to calibrate a machine? How long if it needs adjustments?

  • Oh wow.. I usually like to stay with whoever comes in and ask a million questions.. guess won't be doing that in this case. I am the only programmer-small company. Thank you all for your answers. I have 4 machines, so i guess it will take a few days

    take off the probe tree also?

    What if i mark the plate with a sharpie so it's easier to put everything back when they're done? I have a few fixtures on each machine
