Hobbies

What does everyone like to do outside of their workplace? We'll open it up to things you would like to start as well....

For me:

- Playing guitar / bass/ drums: I do volunteer at my church on a regular basis. I have been playing bass for 20 years, guitar for 14 years, and drums for 1.5 years.
- Recording / Composing music: I used to do this a lot about 10 years ago, but still dabble from time to time.

- I have always enjoyed architecture and design as well. It has been a while since I have done anything like that, but it's peaking my interest again.

- Future Endeavors: Videography, Animations & 3D renderings

  • So I am getting back into R/C planes. Bought a 42% (42% the size of the real plane) Edge 540. I am working on building it at the moment. The engine came in last week and the radio gear came in yesterday. The engine is a 215cc 2 cylinder 2-stroke. It will be 124" wingspan and I'm shooting for 35 lbs. Now to turn 5 boxes of styrofoam, balsa wood, fiberglass, carbon fiber, electronics and an engine into an airplane...

Now that I'm working four 10s, I have time to get stuff like this done... when I'm not petting my new cat.

  • Cris_C It will be. I am planning on getting the hat mount for my GoPro and having it running for the whole maiden flight from turning all the electronics on through starting the engine (hand start) to the landing. I'll be a nervous wreck and I have the feeling that I'm going to cry either when it lands or if the worst happens. This is not only a big money investment but time as well and this kit manufacturer is not in business anymore. I think I have the last unbuilt kit of this model in the world. That being said, I used a friends laser scanner to scan all the precut parts, I have copies of the plans, and I'm making molds of the fiberglass parts so I will be able to repair it or make another one if I want/need to.
