Did a little car shopping with my wife this weekend. Her beloved 2001 Mustang GT convertible is not long for this world. Saturday she test drove a 2020 Mustang Echoboost. We were concerned what a turbocharged 4 cylinder mustang would be like, but I could tell even from the passenger seat that it would be a lot of fun to drive. Now if only we can find a convertible one with the color she wants. She really likes the bright green color they offered last year.
She is also considering a Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep dealer had absolutely nothing in stock and couldn't even take an order for a new one - they stopped production on the 2021s and haven't started the 2022's yet.
It's a terrible time to need to buy car. Luckily, her car is probably good for at least a few more months, so there is no big rush. But, it would sure be nice to get that dealt with.

My father-in-law is a car salesman at a ford dealership. He said there is absolutely nothing on the lot and its been that way for months. And the moment something hits the lot its gone the next day. He has been doing customer to customer trades for months. Basically he finds one person looking for X car and wanting to get rid of Y car. Another person looking for Z car and getting rid of X car. and a third customer looking for Z car and getting rid of Y car. He then becomes the middle man buys the cars off of them and sells them to the other customer. Basically just car dealership Craigslist.
