Football

I am so happy it is finally football season! Hopefully I have a chance to trash talk everybody's team this season and I will start with my own (just friendly banter lol)

Cowboys somehow didn't embarrass themselves against the Buccs.
Hopefully the Eagles dominating the Falcons was just a fluke.
Bengals beat the Vikings?
Browns played a great game but are plagued by the fact that they are still the Browns.
WTF happened to Aaron Rogers? I know the off-season was weird for him but he seemed not interested in winning at all.
I despise the Rams but man Sean McVay has an Impressive offensive style.

  • IDK, when the Giants quarterback almost faceplanted himself after that helmet to helmet hit looked pretty bad. If the Cowboys didn't beat what was left of the Giants, they would have never lived it down.

I hope D. Jones is okay but honestly both of their injuries (Barkley and Jones) were self inflicted.
If Daniel Jones didn't lead with his helmet and gave himself up like every other QB does he would be fine.
  • @Kronk
Spy Gate: Ridiculous. The Pats were allowed to record coaches & were doing so like all of the other 31 teams, their camera was in the wrong location. Nobody needs help beating the jets come on lol. Its the Jets.

Deflate-Gate: You're a very intelligent person. Please don't pretend that you don't know what Boyle's Law is. It was a fun exercise watching full grown adult with multiple degrees who run the NFL pretend like they understand less basic science than my nephew who was 10 at the time...but I know you're not one of those people.

Ref's Bias In Favor of Brady: He is an NFL QB..that POSITION is favored by refs when it comes to roughing/protecting their heads. There are a lot of examples of him being protected by the rules over the years because he's been in the NFL longer than some current rookies have been alive. Doesn't mean there is a bias towards HIM.

Signing big names to 1-2 year contracts to try and win a Superbowl: Literally the exact opposite of what the Patriots do. Bill drafts 6th rounders and pisses everyone off by winning over 70% of the time.

Brees, P. Manning, Rodgers, Stafford, or Mahomes in that same setup, they'd have all those Superbowl wins too: None of those guys have the class, determination, or respect for their body that Tom has. Everyone thought Pat was hot s#!+ but Tom shut that down didn't he? If it wasn't for Tom's wife he'd be playing ball healthily until at least 50 y/o. I'm excited to watch Pat's future. Brees, nothing but respect. That said there will never be another TB12.

I find it humorous that people STILL hate on the Tom/cling to junk science to explain their jealousy of his dominance =(
  • look, Mr. Class is sitting on the field pouting. Either the ref didn't throw a flag for Touching Tom Brady or Tom couldn't talk the ref into throwing a flag for Defensive Pass Interference:

All the times he throws his helmet, pouts and sits down on the field, runs to the locker room immediately after a loss instead of shaking hands, and all the whiny post game interviews or ones he just doesn't show up to when he loses. That's not class, that's being an a$$. He's not the Goat, he's the Donkey. He's going to be the next Joe Nameth: old, broke, divorced, trying to get by talking about his glory days, and rarely ever mentioned in football.

Wasn't he trying to run in for the touchdown? If so, he was going for the glory. If he would have skidded feet first, he might have been down short of the goal. I don't know why all these new QB's want to run the ball. RG3 and Cam Newton both got beat up doing it. Jones doesn't look like a big guy, more like a kicker. He's got guts but not a lot of brains, and probably scrambled brains now.

there are DECADES worth of film of him being a class act while winning or losing. a few times, he got mad and left. big whoop. you've never been mad before? after i methodically tore apart what you said this was a weak argument from you. you can't argue with the fact that the literal record book proves unequivocally that he's the best to ever do it so you resort to a no context picture of him sitting down (as if its supposed to mean anything at all).

he is the greatest football player who has ever lived and i am okay with the fact that your cute little sense of pride won't let you admit it =) saying that he's a donkey and will go out broke/rarely mentioned in football is honestly & truly a ridiculous statement please lay down the m3th pipe Rolling eyesConfusedRolling eyesConfused

Spy-gate: Camera in wrong place = against the rules

Deflate-gate: This had to do with increased traction/grip of a pressurized object. Ball pressures are regulated just like tire pressures re regulated in some if not all racing and towing competitions Theirs were way outside the margin of error to be explained away by Boyle's Law. That was why it was an issue.

As for players: Antonio Brown, Sony Michel, and Randy Moss are just the ones off the top of my head. Tampa is doing the same, when they acquired Edelman, Gronk, and Sherman. All the stars of last year's Tampa team, in the Superbowl, were players acquired that year.

There have been more times that I can count that a flag was thrown AFTER Brady pouted and yelled at the refs. No quarterback in the history of ever has argued with the refs and gotten them to throw a flag against their opponent.

You can add up all the thrown helmets, walk offs, and temper tantrums from all of Brees's, both Manning's, Stafford's, Rodgers', and all the current QB's careers. I am willing to bet Brady has them beat 4 to 1. He cannot handle losing and expresses it like a child.

Clearly Brady is some sort of idol to you and I have some how insulted you by criticizing him. I did not think it would degrade to the point of you calling my intelligence into question and insinuating that I am on drugs. I apologize for criticizing your idol and for any insults it may have caused you. I will no longer comment on the subject.
  • A little late this week but... How Bout Them Cowboys! It is pretty refreshing to see the cowboys not stink!
Cowboys are blessed with another year of the NFC East having 3 bad teams.

The big takeaways for me this weekend are the Cardinals are definitely the real deal!
Titans are probably a little underrated! Henry is insane.

Texans are probably the worst team in the league even though the lions are still winless. I think the lions could easily beat the Texans.

Chief's need to pull themselves together or they are going to miss playoffs altogether.

Bills are clearly very good... But how good? They haven't faced any real opposition until the titans and look what happened. (I know they played the Chiefs but the Chiefs have the worst defense ever)

And in perfect Cowboys fashion Dak gets hurt on the last play of the game. Luckily they have a bye week so hopefully he can recover in time.
