Parameter selection

How do you guys select feature parameters like depth, no of hit, spacing etc?
is there ant standard document or its based on personals preference?

  • There are minimum hits necessary to create each type of feature.

    Doubtful anybody will ever tell you anything more than that.

    Say you call Hexagon and ask, "How many hits do I need to take for flatness?"

    They will not give you a number - it could be wrong. You need to take as many hits as appropriate to evaluate the surface.

    That being said, scanning has certain guidelines for hit numbers to correlate with the filtering being used.
