Slope of lines: Created from points at Basic Diameters

Team,

I'm having trouble with Slope of lines created from points at Basic diameters. The picture shows 4 points ( E,F,G AND H ) all located on Basic diameters. The slope call out appears to be asking slope of each line to Datum -A-, which is the top plane, Z axis of part. I have taken these points at the specified basic diameters, created lines from these points, but the results are 0.297 inches. I know I'm doing something wrong.
Any help is appreciated. Will provide more info if needed.
Greg.

  • Have attached a pdf sketch showing how to obtain the angles using some simple TRIG.

Or you could create the points and get the angles by.

Create 2 generic circles of 8.880 and 7.260 and a generic X vector line

Intersect the line with the 7.260 circle to obtain Point 'E'

    Set origin on the point

    Create a generic line X,Y Zero with vectors of I -0.017452, J 0.99984769, K0.0 0

Intersect line with the 8.880 circle to obtain Point 'F'

  • UKCMM,Your calculated angles were spot on. I measured these points E, F, G and H using the angles you provided at 1° vectors. I then created a Feature Set with those points, then reported Slope of a line of the set. It would be so much easier if prints had all the info you needed, but I guess it would be way to crowded.
    Thanks again.
