Sadly we have companies around my area that don't even have an idea what even a decent programmer is worth and then they wonder why their programmers quit after being on a CMM for year and gain some experience on a CMM. I see jobs on LinkedIn and Indeed that don't even offer a decent wage for an experienced programmer and yet they offer nothing in regards to a decent wage
We have a wage problem indeed.
CMM roles are greatly so misunderstood but it is hard to gain traction when a small group affects the whole industry.
Imagine if the same amount of effort was put forth to your CMM department that was similar to that of a CNC department. Most shops will say it is not worth it and won’t ever try.
