Running CMM in noisy environment

The company that I work for has our "rework" area right outside the cmm room. These guys are grinding and throwing parts around all day! I have made several complaints about the amount of noise as it is disrupting my programming (I can't even hear the beeps from my machine) and the only response I got was "Put earplugs in" I don't think running a cmm with earplugs is very smart and you are asking for a crash.

Am I in the wrong here asking for a quiet work environment or do you guys also run your machines in noisy environments like this??

  • I completely understand the frustration. 100% but this isn't anything that would bother me. I typically listen to music pretty loud when I'm alone anyways.

Where I start to get frustrated is when people smell. Trained a guy that could kill a hog with his breath from 20 paces. Worked with another guy that puts Hollister to shame.
