Microsoft Excel question

Hey guys,

I can't seem to find the solution I'm looking for. Is there a way to copy and paste conditional formatting without having to make a new rule for every line? I am looking to apply a < = / > = into my reports and im wondering if you guys have an easy way to do this. The way I'm doing it I have to make a new rule for every line and there has to be a better way... I didn't write this program but my understanding is, if you dimension everything that has the same tolerance it's much easier to do it in chunks. I appreciate any feedback.

Not sure which version you are using or if that matters, but I use the format painter to copy and paste formatting.

Select formatted cell, click format painter button, then click on the cell you want to transfer the formatting to.

if you edit the cond-format in the 6 cells for each run, removing all the $ (one cell at a time), then you should be able to copy that row of 6 cells, then paste/special/format down for each row. Once you get several rows done, you can copy those rows and repeat, in 'blocks'. Unless those 'smart guys' at MS have monkeyed the way Excel works. I do know this method works in 2003. You should SEE the Excel files I have!
