Tp - Dev Perpen To Centerline

Well, I would post this in the TIPS & DESCRIPTIONS section, but there isn't one (yet?). I have put this here in the CODE section since it will not 'disappear' from the list as fast as in the Pcdmis section.

DEV PERPEN CENTERLINE=ON

This handy function (which I think should be default but is not) is only for TP of holes. When you check a hole on a 3-D surface (surface vector in all 3 axis), which axis do you report for TP? If you report all 3 axis, then your TP value WILL include the SURFACE deviation, which is NOT really part of the hole location. To simulate a stab pin in a fixture, as in an automotive fixture, you can report all 3 axis with this option turned on and it will tell you how far off from the center vector line the hole is, in effect removing the surface deviation from the TP calculation. This is similar to the GAP ONLY function for EDGE points in that the effect is to remove the surface deviation from the final value.

I do NOT know why the help fails do not spell out for you that the use of this will eliminate the surface deviation from the TP result, it would make it SO MUCH clearer for everyone!
