PC-DMIS to Excel

I would like a couple of Guru's to sign up to take a look at an Excel Spreadsheet I created to import measurements from multiple parts into one Excel Spreadsheet. This app has been created for use only with PC-DMIS V4.0 and up. I have tested it in 4.0 and 4.1 with the following dims ...

Location, Distance, TP, Profile Surf, Profile Line, Concentricity
Circularity, Perpendicularity and Parallelism.

But it should work with any type of dimension. Basically I dissected the existing source code for the wizard and made it to suit my needs. Before I (or we) release it to the masses I would like a couple of people who would be willing to beta test it in their environments and maybe make some suggestions for improvements. The spreadsheet was written in Office 2003/VB6 although office apps do tend to be backward compatible if you have an older version of office.

Cheers!

  • It is working as intended per our industry standard. Each dimension on our print requires a separate control number. Therefore any particular part feature could have several dimensions defining it. This is why it is not practical for us to use the feature name in column A on the spreadsheet. We must use the dimension name here instead.

The best I could do for you would be to add another column at the end with the name of the reference feature. That way you could cut and past the contents of that column into column A once you are finished importing the dims from all of your parts.

    Fair enough?

In Stats it gives an option to us dimension name or feature name. It would be nice if this could be put within the Excel Sheet. That way you could have a choice. Other then that it works real good so far. Thank You
