Need some help

I am new to using PC-DMIS and trying to write a program. I have aligned the part and taken my measurements. What do I need to do so that when I move the part and put a different(butsame) part on my table it will be able to automatically run the program? Will I need to do a manual align everytime the part is moved? Thanks in advance for the help.

  • I would think if you gave the program the measurements of Datums A, B and C and aligned, then you could move the part, measure Datum A and it would know hwere B and C where located. Then it would measure B and C and align it automatically?

    look at the 'datums'.. "A" would be a plane (3 DOF) and wouldn't lock down "right to left" OR "front to rear". 3 DOF left to lock down.
