Reverting actuals back to cad model

Hello all,

i have a question, the engineering department all the sudden wants me to check their cad models for them. The easiest way i have found is to write a program (which i would have to do anyways) offline to the model in cad. Then i of course print the report and viola! There is the dimensions of their cad model.

My problem is, they also want the checks to be done on older models that i have already programmed and ran actual parts online. How can i get the report to show the actuals that the cad model has, and not the actuals from the last part i checked.

Thanx in advance
sam
  • Might as well add more for sam-i am, when you run a program off line to "reset" the points to nominals set the movespeed to 100 and touchspeed to 20 (maixmums on mine anyway). Set prehit to 0 and retract to 0 and start the program running (while offline). Then minimize the windows screen and it will run much much faster thru the program. Much quicker on those big programs!

Set all back to the original settings when done running it offline.

You know that someone is going to try this, and forget they are actually on-line. That'll put some hurt on the system. . . .

Our cmm's won't auto move with the touch speed set 20, which is why I use touchspeed 20. then it's simply a matter of why won't it move?
  • Thanks guys!

All very good info! This will all come in very handy in the future!
