TCP/IP Communication Failed Switch to RS-232?

I have checked the IP address and cables only to find nothing appears out of the ordinary. Does anyone have knowledge on rectifying this issue?

  • If you cannot use the terminal utility in PC-DMIS you can use Hyperterminal in Windows (included with XP). It is under 'Start - All Programs - Accessories - Communications'. The connection parameters are 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, no flow control. To reset the session press the letters ECB while holding the CTRL key down; the controller should return the word 'READY'. All of the commands suggested previously will work to get the controller and host ip addresses.

It might be worth looking at what is working instead of what isn't. Does the controller boot up (machine start led on jog box stops flashing)? If it doesn't then this is the reason for the 'machine not responding' message.

There was quite a gap between posts. Has this machine been an office ornament all this time?
