I changed the tip in one of the slots in the probe changer, it works fine until i turn off Pc-Dmis. The next time I load Dmis it reverts back to thinking the old tip is in that slot still. So i have to tell it again what is going on, and then it will work again until the next time i shut down.
Not a big problem.. just an annoying one.
Any thoughts?
This never happened to me in Dmis 2011... everytime i upgrade I find new bugs to overcome!

Due to the way WIN7 security works the following steps need to be done to make sure PCDMIS and the operator both have the proper permissions to run the software.
Administrative permissions are required to do the following. If you are doing a fresh install it is best to have the operator’s login brought up to the level of Administrator. Then do the PCDMIS install under his/her login and when the installation/configuration of PCDMIS is done their permissions can be brought down to the standard user/users group level, if needed.
After PCDMIS is installed (right-click run as Admin), the following permissions need to be set: ***NOTE: For 2016 and newer versions, replace all references to
WAI with
Hexagon***
1.
You must have administrative permissions to do the following. If you can’t do a particular step, get IT involved and have them raise your administrative level. There are different levels of Administrator.
2. You will need to
set registry permissionsfor PC-DMIS and Datapage+, if installed:
-> Click on the start menu and at the bottom where it says “Search programs and files” Type in “Regedit” and hit enter.
-> Now navigate to the registry entry
Hkey_local_machine\software\Wow6432node(for 64 bit pc’s)\WAI. -> For 32 bit PC’s the path is
Hkey_local_machine\software\WAI. -> Right click on the WAI entry and select “Permissions”.
-> Now in this Window, click on the add button.
-> You want to add the users group “Everyone” so type “everyone” (without quotes), click check names and when it underlines the name “everyone” then click “Okay”.
-> Now click the check box for “Full control” that says “allow” click “apply” and then click the “Okay” and close registry editor.
3a.
Set full control for the C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (X86)\WAI folder by:
-> right clicking on the WAI folder, going to
->properties, security, edit, add,
-> Enter the object name “
everyone”(without quotes), OK,
-> click
Allow under full control, apply, ok out,
3b.
Set full control for the C:\ProgramData\WAI folder, by:
-> right clicking on the WAI folder, going to
->properties, security, edit, add,
-> Enter the object name “
everyone”(without quotes), OK,
-> click
Allow under full control, apply, ok out,
3c. -> If using Hexagon Blade software, set full control for the
C:\BladeRunner folder as well
4.
Change properties of the PCDMIS online shortcut:
-> right click on the online icon, properties, compatibility tab, change settings for all users, check
Run this program as administrator, apply, ok out, do the same thing for the Settings Editor and Datapage+ icons.
