I need to know this also. We just got a cylinder stylus and I'm anxious to use it to hit edges of some .020" material. Any help out there??
I agree with their sugestions. However, to answer your question:
Activate "Shak qual", Enter Number shank hits 4, and Shank Offset (0.020" in your case).

I think what everyone is saying is, yes, you can qualify the shank portion as you described, but nowhere in PC-DMIS does it allow you to use that calibration information. The calibration of a shank only uses the hemispherical calibration data.
