Incrementing serial numbers

Hello all,

I was wondering how I might be able to increment the "serial numbers" in the reports of each instances of the program instead of incrementing the "part name?" It currently outputs the part name (program title). Where do I need to go to make the changes? Also, I have an issue with the report when looping, the header label used is the default PC-DMIS header. I have made customized header label with our company logo, but when looping, it uses the default header. Thanks in advance.

Hi wowie. Just trying to understand. Do you mean when you increment a loop you want to increment the serial number in a report's header?

I haven't experimented with how looping affects the report headers. That could be a bug
  • Jared, Yes I would like to increment the serial number in the report that prints out (pdf or printer)and not in the header itself. Right now, the part number in the header is incrementing. Thanks.
  • Well for now, I just have the report print to file and left it on auto. I just manually change the individual report's filename to the actually part it is for to maintain traceability.
  • Hi Wowie, I guess I'm not understanding what it is in your ultimately trying to accomplish. Originally, It sounded like you wanted the report header in the Report window (or in a PDF file) to show your serial number being incremented whenever you looped through a portion of your program using LOOP/START LOOP/END. (I did try doing that using version 2014, but wasn't successful.)

However, in your last post, you mentioned needing to manually change the report's file name to the actual part. ?? To me, that indicates a different need. But I readily admit to being confused. Slight smile Maybe there's still a way of doing what you want, if I understood better.
