DRF & XYZ alignment not merged together

Morning to all,
I've written some simple programs before and noticed the DRF and the x,y,z, in the display window typically merge when the alignment and datum definition is done correctly ( this was using only one simple a,b,c, construction.
Is it at all possible for this NOT to happen ( now I have a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h, datums)? Is it possible to receive good true position callouts even when the alignment is incorrect?
  • When you use XactMeasure, the DRF builds based on the datum features used. It is typically correct, but can react oddly with non-standard datum structures, in my admittedly minimal XactMeasure experience. It doesn't work at all with car-body (without selecting 'Use Current Alignment'). And, if your DRF does not constrain all degrees of freedom, PC-DMIS might not match up exactly with your alignment. It is hard to know if the DRF shows up good, but your alignment is bad, without knowing you and what your level of GD&T knowledge is. It certainly could be possible.

If you do not change your alignment to be local to your new DRF for all the different alphabet combinations, then your DRF should only match your alignment at ABC. Excepting for car-body with DataPage+, then just don't use XactMeasure. Slight smile
