True position using z axis and angle

I am measuring this part right now this is a cylinder about 3 inches tall. The od is dat-b. The top plane is dat-a and dat-c is a slot in the center of the part. The part has 4 counter bore holes along the side of it every 90 degrees. Here is a picture of what the result looks like, and i know its wrong.
Do i need the od dat to be a cylinder or a circle?
Does it matter if its a constructed cyl or an auto cyl?
My dat c is a constructed width, should it be the line instead?

I added two pictures if that helps

please help!!

  • So you need to level to -A- PLN, orgin Z to your plane, rotate to your slot -C-, orging XY at -B-.

After you finish your ALign, you create a Cir of the c'bore. Make sure that the cir is directly from your slot, this way you will have it ar exactly X Or Y Zero, and make sure the NOM for your Z value is correct too( very important that all your NOM are correct). Once you do that, copy and paste with pattrn 3times, 90degrees. This will ensure that all your NOM are correct. Once you finish pasting your circles, then you can Report the TP. Select the TP, select options PA and Z. Thats it.

another thing, I never use Xact measure, only Legacy, and I almost never use datums in my TP, instead I align my part to each FCF.

if you follow this, it will work as it should using Legacy
