Assignments enhancements, please...

Hi all,
This post should concern Hexagon only, unless some guy here has a solution !!!

ASSIGN/V1=PROBEDATA("vector") gives the vector of the tip in the startup alignment only, not in the actual alignment. If you want to use it for a move point, for example, you have to create a line with V1.I, V1.J and V1.K in startup align, and then recall LN1.I, LN1.J and LN1. K in the move point. (PT1.X+50*LN1.I, PT1.Y+50*LN1.J,PT1.Z+50*LN1.K to move to 50 mm along probe axis from PT1)
It could be simpler !Confused

ASSIGN/V1=QUALTOOLDATA("XYZ","TOOL1") gives the location of the calibration sphere in the startup alignment. If you want to use it for a move point (after an autocal, for example), you must recall startup, program the move point and recall the actual alignment...Disappointed

Moreover, this location is in the startup alignment without rotary table. If you turn on the rotary table, the location stays from the zero cmm without RT. So if you create a move to V1.X,V1.Y and V1.Z+50, the cmm is "out of parameter" !!!!! Angry

(Using 2014.1SP2)

  • If you want to submit this as an official enhancement request you need to do it through your local hexagon support center. The Hexagon guys are under no obligation to visit this forum although some do if they have the time (me included) and a few of the american apps guys act as moderators. Once you have submitted your request to your local Hexagon team they can raise the issue with Wilcox via JIRA which is the tool Wilcox use to log problems and enhancement requests. Hope this helps - as I said, just posting on this forum is no guarantee that a Hexagon employee will see your post.
