So my new Facility using PC-DMIS 2019, that I HATE with a passion, and when I try using PC-DMIS 2016-2014; IT LAGS SO HARD. I have 128gb of memory, and an nvidia graphics card. But I think I need a more powerful graphics card. I'm used to using the Z840 engineering computers and this one is not that. I can order any graphics card I want. I just want one that will work best with PC-DMIS 2016. Any recommendations???
Quadro is the way to go, it's designed for CAD, I myself would say no less than 2gb, unless my settings were wrong, I had an 8gb one time and PC-DMIS would only use 4gb of it. I also have a gamer laptop that doesn't have a quadro, but it has 3gb on the video card, never has failed and it still rocks. It's probably 8-9 years old
Sounds like a settings issue in the NVIDIA control panel. Have you installed the latest graphics driver from their site? out of curiosity why do you dislike 2019? currently 2022 is one of my favorites so far. I've used multiple different versions over the last 12 years going all the way back to 4.3 MR1.
It's quite relatable to have a preferred version of the software and the frustration when it doesn't perform as expected. Your situation with PC-DMIS 2016 lagging despite having ample memory and an Nvidia graphics card can indeed be a head-scratcher. Considering your background with the powerful Z840 engineering computers, the difference must be quite noticeable.
