Command Mode Readability

Hello, first post here, new user of PC-DMIS. So, I've given myself quite the first project, a Gen 3 LS camshaft! Confounded

I'm struggling with command mode readability. Is there any way to change the text font, size, and possibly spacing/indent between separate features? If I do a parameter change or whatever, it just seems be blend in with the previous feature, and searching through the text is straining on the eyes.. and mind... What can I do to enhance readability?

  • While you are adding color to your edit window, you might as well clean up your printouts. I'm on a domain so I don't actually print them unless I HAVE to. I save them to a location on our server. I also turn off the background colors. It's a waste of ink when you print them with the background colors. Then click on Edit, Graphic Display Window, and then Dimension Color. Here you should use KISS. Just four levels and five colors. Every boss, supervisor and even operator knows the colors of a traffic light. Green - GO, Yellow - Whoa time to adjust and Red - STOP. The levels and colors I use are 0 to 25% Dark Green. 25 to 50% a Custom Green. 50 to 75% Light Green. 75 to 100% Yellow. Out of spec is RED. I use this on the PLUS and MINUS sides. It doesn't get any simpler than this and I don't have to explain to management or production what they are seeing. I don't know why the default is 9 levels and 10 colors. It's confusing even for me to tell at a glance what is good, questionable and bad. I wish there were a way to set custom levels so that it turns yellow at 65%. At that point the CPK drops below 1.66.

I have it set to Dark Green for 0-50%, 50-75% Light Green, 75%-100% Yellow, Red OOT. When I was hired here, they had all kinds of colors: Purple, Yellow, Red, Cyan, Blue, Gray...
