2020R2 Geometric Tolerance: PDF Report Issues

I have been experiencing weird issues when exporting to a PDF with PC-DMIS pertaining to the Geo Tol functions. The Report Window in PCDMIS will be fine, but when exporting the report to a PDF, the measurements just vanish. I have also seen an "ERROR" and black bar lines, in which the report window is fine. All the raw data extracts just fine, but the reports are missing data. Anyone else experience this issue? Seems to be the case in which a LOOP is involved. The kicker, it's not every feature.

Why does it work for some features and not others? This also happens for one other feature (just not pictured). I tried recreating the measurement and receive the same results. This is occurs on my offline seat as well as my online seats. Confused
  • I've come across this issue as well and I found it happened when I had another format text line later in my program for only NOM and MEAS.
  • And yes, this is the case as I have all the basic dimensions later on in the program where I don't need a tolerance for, so I hide it. But this is only affecting Geo Tol, nothing legacy like diameter, distance, and location dimensions.
  • Yeah same. I haven't seen your other issues though. Have you tried reinstalling the PDF drivers?
  • Yes, I have. I also put a ticket into Hex Support.
  • Shaun W at Hexagon has been helping me out with this. I sent him a few problem programs and he has been able to see the same thing. There is a work around he gave me:

    1. Open program - View Report Window
    2. Right-Click on profile dimension (or any dimension missing data in PDF)
    3. Select Edit Object
    4. Uncheck the “missing” column items
    5. Click Okay
    6. Refresh Report Window
    7. Right-Click (again) on profile dimension (or any dimension missing data in PDF)
    8. Re-check the “missing” column items
    9. Refresh Report Window
    10. Print Report

I have verified and so has Shaun that it works for 2021.1 and 2020R2. As it has been replicated on their end, they plan on fixing it.
  • Hi , I can't remember if you took part in the 2020 R2 customer preview testing when we were first introducing the geometric tolerance command. If you did, you may recall that a number of users had problems with report templates due to the way they are handled when installing new versions of PC-Dmis on existing systems. Can you please try something for me?

Close PC-Dmis and go to the reporting folder (C:\Users\Public\Documents\Hexagon\PC-DMIS\2021.1\Reporting).
If you have any special, customised labels or report templates, make a copy of the folder and save it somewhere safe then delete the contents of the original reporting folder.
Go to "C:\Program Files\Hexagon\PC-DMIS 2021.1 64-bit\DefaultReportingTemplateBackup" and copy the contents of that folder into your reporting folder.
Launch PC-Dmis and test to see if you still see the same behaviour.
If all is well, re-instate any modified report labels or templates you were using and re-test to confirm you still have the desired behaviour.

Yes, I was one who did the Tech Preview for 2020R2 and had reporting issues during that time that I see now. I will test that out and get back to you.

    Same behavior.
  • I'm having this issue also. I've found that if I don't change the FORMAT/TEXT line at all, it keeps the GeoTol good, but if I try to change it for any reason it messes everything else up.
