I tried changing the command mode edit window text color for
groups to a distinct color for easy identification, an adjustment I have made is the past in other labs, and for some reason this time that one edit wiped out every other default color for the entire edit window. This is quite frustrating, especially since the e
ditable fields distinction is gone. Can somebody please:
1) Export the .CLR (SHIFT + F6) file for the default PC-DMIS color settings for the edit window text,
2) Change that files extension from .CLR to .TXT,
3) Compress that .TXT into a .ZIP file, and
4) Attach that .ZIP file in a comment below.
Elsewhere on the forum I have seen examples of other users edit window color configuration, and many of them look neat, but regardless of its utility I want there to be a color distinction between editable and un-editable fields, between variable and static text. So far I have not seen anybody post an example of an edit window configuration that maintains this distinction.
Typically the static text is black and the editable variable text is blue. The PC-DMIS default is the only example I have seen that maintains this distinction.
And before anybody suggests it, a previous user of this CMM that no longer works here has already edited and ruined the "OLD DEFAULT COLORS.CLR". So that is not current a viable option for me.
Hi
Incredible.Mr.Lucas , I have a custom color scheme set on my machine, but I saved the original as a backup. I have attached that file as you say. I wish there was a way to maintain that distinction with a usable custom color scheme... developers?
THANK YOU mbatten... or at least thank you for trying... I believe you that this is the default configuration, but apparently there is something higher going on with my program as applying this CLR file changes my edit window to 100% black text with no formatting at all. Can you please try applying this template to your program again temporarily to make sure the same doesn't happen to you? If you apply this template and see the standard black and blue colors, than indeed my software is screwy (or I am doing it wrong). If your edit window is straight black and white, then perhaps the color interface is not as intuitive as it leads us to believe.
In the meanwhile,
does this problem sound familiar to anybody else? Is there something one of us is doing wrong?
NinjaBadger at this point I am just trying to revert back to stock PC-DMIS settings, black static text / blue variable field / red OOT and error / grey... whatever grey is... You know, the vanilla raw configuration that comes stock with PC-DMIS.
Of course, if I could do so without risk, I would love to customize some things, but from all that I have seen, both in-person and posted on the forum, every edit window text customization regardless of how small and insignificant instantly wipes out all the in-block distinctions between editable and static fields, the blue and the black text. Everything that isn't specifically edited just instantly turns straight black and white. Editable fields don't even highlight themselves with the box when I hover over them anymore. My edit window is just screwed. As far as the background highlighting of selected and unmarked text, I have never been dissatisfied with the standard on those.
