[2022.1 SP1] Application.ico error is back for Universal Updater

i have this error too, copyed a random "Application.ico" in the install folder fix this temporarily.
Application.ico file is presend in one version lower

Yes, any .ICO will do, I guess.

I'm sorry, not getting anywhere with this one. We've tried a few different systems, with no internet access. Is there any more you can tell me about it? OS? Was it ok in the prior installation (maybe 2022.1 original release)? etc.

Ok in the previous release, 2022 R. Like I stated above, all the other installs I have made have been fine, after 2021.1 SP5 (Windows 10 X64) up until now.

OK, thank you. Still not much to go on there, as we've tried with 2022.1 SP1, and no internet, on WIndows 10 and WIndows 7. However, let me share something with you that I did find, maybe it is a clue.

I wanted to try this on a clean system. I formatted a laptop and installed WIndows 7, and all available updates. I copied 2022.1 SP1 into that system from a thumb drive, taking it from a computer where I had installed it successfully. I was using a hasp key. Anyway, I double clicked on the installer (multiple times) and nothing happened. I rebooted and tried again, multiple times, still nothing. I copied 2022.1 release onto that system using the same thumb drive, from the same computer where it had worked before, and still nothing on Windows 7. I repeated this for over an hour, rebooting and retrying. I googled all sorts of things about permissions, file blocks, registry keys, etc. Nothing worked. Finally (after connecting to the internet) , I downloaded a fresh copy of the 2022.1 SP1 installer directly to that WIndows 7 laptop. Once again I disconnected the internet for this test, and it worked the very first time. Comparing the two installers, both were the exact same size. Apparently it must have been something about transferring the file the way I did that caused this odd problem.

In summary, the question, have you tried a different copy of the installer, whether you download it again, use a different thumb drive, etc? Is it possible there is just something wrong with that instance of the installer you are using?

Downloaded the setup from https://support.hexagonmi.com/s/article/New-Release-PC-DMIS-2022-1
Transferred to a network drive that all of our computers can reach. Copied installer to desktop prior to installation.
Executed as admin on all (3) computers.

Just out of curiosity, does the installer create an installation log by any chance? Maybe I can pick something up from that.

Check in c:\Users\<user name>\Appdata\Local\Temp

Look for Text documents which start with "Universal_Updater"

Start by looking to see if these file(s) exist and then clear that folder to clean it up and make these easier to find a fresh copy of the failure

tested it on 4 diffent PC's with Windows 10 and pcDMIS from 2020 to 2021.2 always the same effect.

But I noticed something:
I actually installed the file "1.5.707.exe".
after the installation everything is ok, Version in Universalupdater ist 1.5.707
but a popup window appears that only gives me the opportunity to update although I actually just made an update.

the Programm updates to 1.5.708 (this version is not actually visible on the website)
and during this second installation he deletes the Application.ico file,
(if you have the installation folder open it just deletes the file)

1.4 was installed before the installation started
