[2022.1 SP1] Application.ico error is back for Universal Updater

Whatever you did the last time I reported this error, it didn't work. Please start testing the installers more thoroughly
and fix this stupid error or let us opt-out from installing the updater (for non-Internet connected machines).


Application.ico is included in the attached ZIP-archive, you will need to put this in the path shown in the error message
if you want to use the Universal Updater at all...

    This last one states "Scheduling restart: Removes file C:\Program Files\Hexagon\Universal Updater 1.5 64-bit\Application.ico.You must restart in order to complete the task."

    I was just going to forward similar information I got -

    Translated this string and it seems to indicate that a restart is needed."

    Did it ask you for a reboot?

    Nope. No prompt asking me to restart.

    The translated string states:
    "Scheduling restart: Remove file C:\Program Files\Hexagon\Universal Updater 1.5 64-bit\Application.ico.You must restart in order to complete the task."
  • Had this error again during installation of 2022.1 SP3.

    I can confirm that it didn't work for me "again".
  • This occured again during installation of 2022.2 SP1.
  • I had same problem but only after updating universal updater no matter version of pc-dmis i have. I had to manually copy ico file into folder.

    I have the error again
    (02.12.2022; windows10)

    I completely uninstalled the universal updater.
    freshly downloaded: Installer_release_1.5.707.0.exe
    after installation, the program updates itself to 1.5.711.
    during the second installation it tells me to restart windows.
    after the restart, said error​ pops up
  • Happened to me too yesterday. Exactly how Henninger1234 described.
    Was installing 2020R1 on a fresh Windows 10 System.

    Is there a possibility to install PC-DMIS without the universal updater?
    We uninstall it anyway after the installation.

    I looked in the release notes for a parameter but I couldn't find one.

    You can download from here: https://downloads.ms.hexagonmi.com/PC-DMIS-Versions/Release/ and instal manually. Obviously, without the Universal Updater, you would have to regularly visit the site yourself in order to check whether a new update was available.
