Point of intersection between a line and a cloud of points?

Hello to everyone!

I'm looking for a method that allows me to obtain the point of intersection between a line and a cloud of points (or a mesh) obtained through a laser scanner (see the attachment).. is this possible?

  • Do you need to have the COP constructed into a feature set first? Because the COP doesn't have a 'surface' to pierce.
  • Ok, if it's not possible to pierce the COP do you have any suggestions? I need to measure the distance between a point in the space at specified coordinates and the surface of the COP at the same (y,z) coordinates (as illustrated in the attachment). I tried to get an automatic point on the COP clicking on the surfaces many times to reach the same (y,z) coordinates and then checking the distances but I think there is a more elegant solution. The fact is that the COP surface in that zone cannot be converted into any geometric features...
