I'm trying to move the circle path of an auto plane on the Y axis and it will not move. So far I've tried:
changing the Y coordinate in the feature in summary mode (by .010", .050", and 2")
changing he Y coordinate in the feature in command mode (by .010", .050", and 2")
changing the Y coordinate to an adjacent plane with a +.512 displacement
Nothing works. Nothing changes where the probe approaches the part. the probe still looks for the plane in the same location as the default setting (Y 14.571 in this instance).
If you are using any of the scanstrategies (ie. not the default PC-DMIS strategy) this applies. "Regular" autofeatures using the default strategy is not affected by what I have written.
As side note we do not have clearance cube option so do not know the workings of it, can you explain how it knows what is the correct navigation vector when moving around.
In your example the standard approach vector for measuring the planes would be along the 'Y' axis but as these are groove faces that will not be possible and you will need to approach via the 'Z' or 'X' axis. Without using a modification command how does it know the 'Y' axis approach is wrong in this instance.
