Good morning, attached is a pic I wanted to get some feedback on. I wanted to see what the best Alignment would be. Its a bent Part. Any Advice would be great. Thank you.
Gee....I can't see any way that a non-flat surface can be your planar element (datum A).
Oh, now I see; datum A is just the 'flat bits' on either end.
So, it's just a plane/hole/hole alignment, albeit with the origin being somewhere far off the part, and it seems oriented with the print showing the x-axis to be fore-aft, and the Y axis left-right. Odd, but a simple alignment, but one where there will be an offset in all 3 axis to put it at the origin.
Measuring the holes will require measuring a circle that is not perpendicular to the top surface. I assume you are using CAD, so the one thing you will need to look for in the edit window is that the vector elements need to be 0,0,1

The Part sits on the Z Axis so the Datums are pointing in the X Direction. I this company does all alignments in Free state since you cant get to half the part on the Fixture. I'm wondering what offsets I would use in this case. Am I trying to project both datum holes to the A Surface?
