how can i measure this depth of radius in pcdmis

hey guys
the picture says it all
how do i get the depth of the radius/diameter

  • If you NEED to do this on the CMM....I would:

    -Find part using normal alignment

    Once part is found...

    -Measure top plane as TOP_PLN and measure the od cone as OD_CON. Make alignment to plane (Z) and cone(XY).
    -Use PC DMIS small arc method to find radius

    Once radius is found...

    -RECALL main alignment (TOP_PLN & OD_CON)
    -Measure probe a line going UP the cone and Y0
    -Rotate to nominal angle of the line
    -Recall correct workplane
    -DIST dim from Y0 line to radius

    Should probably measure this OFF of the CMM.
